Getting started

Set a master password: On first launch, you set a master password. It encrypts your entire vault and is stored nowhere. Choose it carefully – it cannot be recovered.

Create entries: Use the “+” to create logins, credit cards, notes and more. Fields can be freely added, entries tagged and organized into vaults.

Frequently asked questions

I forgot my master password – what now?

For security reasons, the master password is stored nowhere. Without this password, the encrypted vault cannot be decrypted or recovered. There is no “reset password” function – that's the price of real security.

How do I import from another password manager?

Create an export there (common formats or CSV) and choose “Import → Select file” in KeyNook. KeyNook detects the format automatically and shows a preview before importing.

How do I set up AutoFill?

Enable KeyNook in your system settings under “Passwords → Password Options” as the AutoFill provider. After that, your device will suggest matching entries when you sign in.

How do I connect the browser extension?

Install the extension for Firefox, Chrome or Safari, open KeyNook on the Mac and enter the pairing code from the settings (Browser Integration) into the extension. The app must be open for AutoFill in the browser to work. In Safari you'll also find KeyNook as system AutoFill under System Settings → Passwords.

How does sync between devices work?

Enable iCloud sync in the settings. Your data is synchronized encrypted through your own iCloud – only you can read it with your master password.

How do I completely delete my vault?

In the settings under “Danger Zone → Delete vault completely”. This irreversibly removes all entries, vaults and settings from the device. Without a backup, no recovery is possible.

Are there any ongoing costs?

No. KeyNook is a one-time purchase. You unlock optional Pro features with a one-time in-app purchase – no subscription.

Refunds

Purchases and refunds are handled through Apple's App Store. You can request refunds via reportaproblem.apple.com.
